The Costa Incoronata Tunnel is part of the #GreenLight project launched by ANAS in 2016.
During 2018, Arianna, thanks to its collaboration with the best technological installers in Italy, managed to win 8 different lots, for an expected total of around 50,000 tunnel projectors in the three-year period 2018-2020.
Anas has signed the first contract for the start-up and maintenance of tunnel systems through the supply and installation of the latest generation LEDs with consumption regulation and monitoring to replace obsolete lighting fixtures. The stipulation concerns Lot 6 (Anas macro area of Calabria). The tender was awarded to A.T.I. Sielte S.p.A. and Tekno-Ele S.r.l., who chose Arianna spa as their LED lighting partner.
The Anas #GreenLight Project (three-year Framework Agreement) envisages the replacement of lighting fixtures with latest-generation LEDs, aimed both at reducing consumption, but also at raising safety levels within the tunnels themselves thanks to improved visual comfort on the road surface.
The Costa Incoronata tunnel is located on the A2 motorway, one of the most important roads in southern Italy and part of the E45 European Road. It consists of two one-way tubes with two lanes of traffic and one emergency lane.
The installation of Phileo tunnel floodlights, in the entrance area, and Snell tunnel floodlights, to illuminate the entire tunnel in the permanent (24-hour) installation, resulted in energy savings of 65% compared to the old lighting. All the floodlights installed for the reinforcement are designed with patented total reflection optics that minimise glare and ensure greater safety for motorists.
Worthy of note is the commitment of Arianna spa, A.T.I. Sielte S.p.A. and Tekno-Ele S.r.l. in this project, thanks to which the Costa Incoronata Tunnel was the first of Anas' '#GreenLight' to be switched on and operational.
A collaboration that led to a great result, synonymous with precision and dynamism.

332 Snell tunnels were used for the lighting of the Costa Incoronata Tunnel, whose photometry is designed to reduce glare and ensure uniform illumination on the ground.
For the reinforcement part, Phileo tunnels were chosen in single (165 pcs) and double (164 pcs) versions with a total reflection counter-flush optic to keep glare for motorists below the norm.
