After the renovation of the tensioning structures around the historic centre of Rome, and the installation of Phileo in the first suburbs and urban area, the collaboration between ACEA and Arianna continues to be confirmed by expanding to the tunnels and subways sector.
The lighting of tunnels and subways is highly topical for the safety standards of drivers. Visual comfort, uniformity and energy saving were the prerogatives for those in Rome.
Phileo, with its distinct modularity and patented total reflection optics, was the product of choice for the Capital, due to its unique design and distinct versatility.
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
7,000 Phileo luminaires were installed in the Tunnel version. Patented symmetrical optics were chosen for the permanent part of the tunnels and subways, and asymmetrical counter-flow optics for the entrance area. The installed products guarantee energy savings of more than 60% and glare that is well below regulatory limits.
Two types of couplings were designed for Rome: a more traditional adjustable channel coupler capable of adapting to different existing structures, and a wall coupler for subways where the channels were not pre-existing.
